James Sutterfield Obituary
James Franklin Sutterfield, 35, of Antlers passed from this life on March 14, 2021. He was born in Antlers, OK on August 6, 1985 to Barney Joe Sutterfield and Linda (Prater).
James was a lifelong resident of Pushmataha County. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, making knives, and tinkering with his four wheelers. James loved his family, and cherished time with his nieces and nephews. He appreciated the value of the simple things, like picking wildflowers for his Momma and helping her with her flower beds. James especially loved to help others and he will be missed by all that knew him.
James is preceded in death by his father: Barney Joe Sutterfield; grandparents: Daisy Mae (Bollinger) Prater-Darling, Lenard Prater, Jo Sutterfield, and Oma Mae Neese- Sutterfield; and nephew: Taylor James Sutterfield.
He is survived by his mother and step-father: Linda Fay Massey and Leonard Massey; nephew: Morgan Sutterfield; nieces: Kaci and Jessi Sutterfield; brother: Tommy Sutterfield; sister in law: Jodi Clifton; aunts: Cheryl Prater of Antlers, OK, Peggy Edwards of Cameron, OK, Corrine Williams of Antlers, OK, and Mary Jo Eastham of Antlers, OK; and uncles: Harlen Prater of Gypsum, KS, Larry (Bill) Sutterfield and wife Shirley of Clayton, OK; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
Services for James will be held on Sunday March 21, 2021 at 1PM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel with George Pigg officiating. Interment will take place on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Antlers City Cemetery.
