James Marshall Vaughan, 15, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 11, 2024, in McAlester, Oklahoma. He was born on November 14, 2008, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Gregory Lee Vaughan and Ashley Kay (Smith) Vaughan.
Marshall was proud of his christian faith and was a member of the Scipio Baptist Church. He was an avid basketball player and enjoyed playing for Indianola High School. He was also active in the FFA, where he liked showing and judging livestock. Marshall was a true country boy. In his spare time, you could find him hunting, fishing or listening to a dog bay a hog. Most of all, Marshall loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his poppy: Lee Vaughan and a baby sibling born sleeping.
Marshall is survived by his parents: Greg and Ashley Vaughan of McAlester, Oklahoma; sister: Paislee Kay Vaughan of McAlester, Oklahoma; grandparents: Mike and Sherri Smith of Copan, Oklahoma and Gayla Vaughan of Antlers, Oklahoma; great grandparents: Betty Gregg of Antlers, Oklahoma and Kay Landis of Dewey, Oklahoma; special family members: Erin Sorrells, Richard Sorrells, Madeline Sorrells and Cayd Sorrells all of Antlers, Oklahoma, Kevin Hopper of Woodland, California and Brandon Smith, Lacey Smith, Lincoln Smith and Anderson Smith all of Ochelata, Oklahoma; girlfriend: Paisley Grace Savage of Antlers, Oklahoma; as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers include: Greg Vaughan, Tracey Cargill, Steve Tripp, Tim Robertson, Ethan Moore and Jerry Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers include: Madeline Sorrells, Cayd Sorrells, Lincoln Smith, Anderson Smith, Indianola Basketball Team and FFA Members.
A funeral service, for Marshall, will be held at 10AM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Indianola Gymnasium in Indianola, Oklahoma, with David Cantrell and Donny Bostwick officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 3PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Antlers City Cemetery, in Antlers, Oklahoma.
