Obituary

Jane Elizabeth Alexander, 82, passed from this life on August 2, 2023, in Antlers, Oklahoma. Born on September 3, 1940, in Talihina, Oklahoma, Jane was a woman of deep faith and boundless love who spent her life dedicated to her family, her work, and her passions.

Jane was a devoted wife to Lester Alexander for many wonderful years. Together, they raised three strong and independent children, Amy Barnett and her husband Shawn of Rattan, Oklahoma, Trina Jackson of Antlers, Oklahoma and Jay Bradley Jackson. Jane was also a beloved aunt to her nieces Monica Trammell and Jamie Martin, and her nephew Jason Baggett. Her brother Mike Baggett was a cherished part of her life. Jane was a doting grandmother to Broc Smith, Lexi Barnett, Sidnee Barnett and Samantha Elizabeth who all held a special place in her heart.

Jane was preceded in death by her son, Jay Bradley Jackson; her granddaughter, Samantha Elizabeth Smith; her father, W.J. Baggett; her mother, Reba Baggett; her brother, Bobby Dawkins; and her cousin, David Liddy. Their memories lived on in her heart and were a source of strength and comfort for Jane throughout her life.

Throughout her career, Jane worked as a dedicated bookkeeper and helped take care of the family business. Her meticulous attention to detail and her unwavering integrity made her a respected and admired professional. Her colleagues remember her as a reliable and trusted friend, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.

Jane was known for her love of family get-togethers, playing poker, and watching 60 Minutes religiously. She was an avid fisherwoman, always eager to cast a line and enjoy the tranquility of nature. Above all, Jane cherished spending time with her grandchildren, her love for them was endless, and she enjoyed every moment she spent with them.

Jane was a woman of strong faith and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Her beliefs were the bedrock of her life, guiding her in times of hardship and joy. She was selfless in her actions, always putting the needs of others before her own. As a spirited and proud member of the Choctaw Nation, her loving nature was a beacon of comfort to those around her, and she had a knack for making everyone feel special and loved. She was a pillar of strength and resilience, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Jane is survived by numerous other family members and friends who will remember her fondly. Her love, kindness, and spirit will be sorely missed, but the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

Jane Alexander's service will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10 AM. Family night will be held Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 6 PM- 8PM.

Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
