Jearl Thomas Self, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 2nd, 2024, at the age of 91 in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born on January 15, 1933, in Cloudy, Oklahoma, to Earl Self and Julia (Cousins) Self.

A proud veteran, Jearl honorably served his country in the US Air Force before embarking on a dedicated career as an FAA Flight Controller, a role he retired from after many years of service. Those who knew Jearl were familiar with his passion for traveling, fishing, hunting, and trading. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Jearl was preceded in death by his sons: Jeffrey Don Self and Carol Doss Self; brothers, Kennard Self and Vernon Self; and his parents: Earl and Julie Self.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his children: Patricia Ann Welch and her husband Ronnie of Rattan, OK, and Paul Self of Oklahoma City, OK; the mother of his children: Georgette Self of Oklahoma City; his brother: Johnny Carol Self and wife Marsha of Rattan; his sister: Dolly Jane Henderson of Newalla, OK; his grandchildren: Leigha Harrison and Lindsey Self of Oklahoma City; and his great-grandchild: Lyric Harrison.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:30AM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel.
