Jimmie Ray Owens passed from this life with his family by his side at this home in Antlers, Oklahoma on December 8, 2019. He was born August 1, 1944 to Raymond Jesse Owens and Fern (Dobbs) Owens in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jimmie married Karen Ann (Cantarini) on October 10, 1963 at Imperial Beach, California. They lived in the Antlers area for 45 years. Jimmie enjoyed playing guitar, spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and working his ranch.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond Jesse Owens and Fern Sloan; step father: Glenn Sloan; and his grandmother: Ruby Cooper.
Jimmie is survived by his wife: Karen Owens of the home; children: Jim G. Owens, Joy Hedgecock, and Lanette Cornett; step-brothers: Bob Sloan and Calvin Sloan; step-sister: Sherry Brown; grandchildren: B.J. Hedgecock, Mike Hedgecock, Brittany Carter, Kaitlin Williams, Cheyenne Brown, Mandy Owens, Faith Owens, Colton Scott, Teele Thyssen, Chelsea Cornett, and Taylor Cornett; and great-grandchildren: Michelle Hedgecock, Trent Hedgecock, Tripp Hedgecock, Oaklyn Carter, Owen Brown, Brylee Hedgecock, and Kynlee Hedgecock.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Funeral services are entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
