Jimmy Joseph Tabor passed away on April 17, 2026, at his home in Finley, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. He was born on January 5, 1949, in Sweet Home, Oregon to Ted Tabor and Doris (Basden) Tabor. Jim married his true love, Loretta Hensley, on November 19, 1971, and they were blessed with 55 years of marriage, two children and 4 grandchildren.
If you knew Jim, you knew that his grandsons were the loves and joy of his life. He treasured his time with them and was incredibly proud of all the boys. He loved it when they would visit and would make sure he had plenty of ice cream, Pepsi and Root Beer on hand. If you had time to listen, he would share their crazy antics and brag about their sports accomplishments. He also enjoyed reading Western novels and watching every old Western movie he could find on TV.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Ted Tabor and his mother Anna Doris (Basden) Tabor along with two of his brothers, Bud Tabor and Ted Tabor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta (Hensley) Tabor of the home; son, Sidney Jarred Tabor and wife Dawn of Finley, OK; daughter, Tammy Tabor of Finley, OK; sister, Pauline Harris of Antlers, OK and brother, Kenneth Tabor of Tuttle, OK. He is also survived by four grandsons: Luke , Kobe, Jace, and Cash Tabor of Finley, OK, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 10:30AM to 11:30AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the One Creek Valley Church in Finley, Oklahoma with the Funeral services following at 12:00PM at the One Creek Valley Church in Finley, Oklahoma with Pastor Andy Johnson officiating. Pallbearers include Teddy Tabor, Trae Harris, Dan Anderson, Steve Bellinger, Kyle Bellinger, and Jared Efurd. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery.
Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
