Jimmy Don Wilkerson of Boswell, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, February 22nd at the age of 58.
Jim was born on March 26th, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Ella Mae Wilkerson. He was raised by his mother in Antlers, Oklahoma and has been a lifelong resident of southeastern Oklahoma. In January of 2018, Jim married Sandra Moore of Boswell. He and Sandra have enjoyed a life full of love, hard work, gardening, building, and homesteading, building a beautiful life and home together. Jim was a loyal employee of McCraw Oil and Propane for 27 years, where he was surrounded by many friends who he considered to be family. Jim was a hard-working, kind, and generous man who would do anything to help anyone in need. There was always a smile on his face, and his smile and laughter were contagious. Whether he was working in the garden or watching cartoons, Jim took joy in everything he did and made the most of each day. Jim loved the Lord, and it was apparent in the way he lived and let the light of Jesus shine through his life. He was a member of Riverside Unity Church in Unger.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Mae, two brothers, Edward Eugene Claxton and Edward Dewayne Wilkerson, and long time partner, Shelley Gibson.
He is survived by his wife Sandra of the home, son Shane Wilkerson of Tupelo, several fortunate bonus children who were blessed to have Jim in their lives, including Joe Green and wife Lida of Springvale, Maine, Chris Massengale and wife Lacee of Hugo, Ashley Finch and husband Seth of Boswell, Tanner Gibson and wife Ciara of Boswell, and Jonna Sue Reynolds and husband Brandon of Soper, brothers Jackie Claxton of Oklahoma City and Larry Joe Claxton of Antlers, sisters Elizabeth Wilkerson of Jay, Oklahoma and Sandra Cole of Tupelo, Oklahoma, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and wonderful friends.
Jim will be honored at a celebration of life on Sunday, February 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Unity Church in Unger, Oklahoma, with Reverend Tim Harless officiating.
Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service and Cremations of Antlers, OK.
