JoAn Pace Obituary

JoAn was born November 21, 1929 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Samuel Bentley and Maggie Louise (Mayne) Cocke. JoAn passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 90. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Antlers.

JoAn married Samuel Wesley Pace December 14, 1947 while Sam was attending Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. They were married 60 years before Sam's death in 2007.

JoAn held a variety of jobs outside the home, but she will be remembered as an immaculate homemaker, loving mother and devoted wife, while following Sam in his ministries in Arkansas, Southeast Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas, and Western Oklahoma before retiring back to Antlers. JoAn enjoyed many hobbies but her favorite was collecting coins.

JoAn is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Bentley and Maggie Cocke, husband Sam Pace, and grandson Andrew Britton Pace.

JoAn is survived by her brother: John Cocke and wife Jimi of Antlers, Oklahoma; daughter Lydia Gore and husband Larry of Edmond, Oklahoma; sons: Alan Pace and wife Sandy of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and Scott Pace and wife Stacie of Antlers, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Family visitation will be at Serenity Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Oddfellows Cemetery in Antlers, Oklahoma with grandson Paul Gore and Pastor Aaron Reed officiating.

Memorials should be sent to First Baptist Church of Antlers.

The Family would like to thank Pattie James and staff at the Veraden Senior Living Center in Edmond, Oklahoma for the excellent care while mother was there.
