Joann (Hamill) Sappington was born in Bakersfield, California on August 30, 1949 to Leonard Hamill and Dora (Johnson) Hamill. She passed from this life on September 24, 2024 at her Antlers home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Curtis Sappington; parents: Leonard and Dora Hamill; siblings: Mildred Tyson, John Hutson, Ferrell Hutson, and Jack Hutson.

Joann is survived by her children: Ronald Sappington and wife Danael of Antlers and Jolene Pool and husband Mike of Antlers; grandchildren: Ronnie Sappington and wife Jordan of Rattan, Amber Pool and partner Chris of Antlers, Sierra Addington and husband Dillon of Cloudy, Stormee Birchfield and partner Adam of Rattan, Jonathan and Brandon Pool, and Angela Albarado; and great-grandchildren: Mason, Maddy, Jaden, Colton, Emmalee, Leilani, Kai "Little Joe", Jerica, Jasmine, Ana, Halie, Alex, and Brandon; great-great-grandchildren: Paula, Mauricio, Frankie, Aslan, Alan, Christian, Aj and Emily; as well as a host of wonderful nieces and nephews.

A family night visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Service from 6-8PM on Friday, September 27, 2024. Funeral services will take place at 10AM on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the New Life Apostolic Church with Brother Gerald Vickers officiating. Interment will follow at Darwin Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Ronnie Lee Sappington, Dustin Wolfe, Derek Wolfe, Steve England, Dillon Addington, Christopher Diaz, and Alex Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers are: Clifton Wolfe, Mike Pool, and Abe Abu-Namoos.
