John served in the National Guard for homeland Security in his younger years and was released with an honorable discharge. He was self-employed and ran Allied Home Care as well as air conditioning repair for many years. He worked on small and large appliances. John loved to collect and gather antiques, vehicles, and any other item he saw as having value. He enjoyed fishing, hunting for rocks and mushrooms. He studied the names of trees and grasses and absolutely loved to be in nature. He worked as a janitor, bus driver and para-professional for many years in the Antlers School system. He enjoyed being around the students and helping mentally handicapped children. John was a pastor in Antlers for a season where he played the guitar and preached the word of God with much passion. He had such a compassionate heart and ministered in the jails, nursing homes as well as helping those struggling with addictions. John was an evangelist at one point in his life and traveled in Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas with his dear minister friends. He went on two missionary trips to Mexico orphanages helping to preach, fix and paint buildings. But what he loved the most was to be with his family, his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He attended basketball games, softball games, church functions and graduations. He was an extremely generous man and helped alot of people who were in need. He loved talking about all kinds of topics, but his favorite was talking about the Lord. He was a man who was very fervent in prayer especially for others. He never ever complained about how he felt or about much anything else. He was a beloved dad and papa but most of all he was a lover of Jesus and a friend to us all and never met a stranger.
