John Wayne Standridge, Sr. was born in Las Cruces, NM on January 9, 1943 to Chester Cecil Standridge and Margaret (Owen) Standridge. He passed from this life on August 17, 2025 in Paris, TX at the age of 82. 

John married Ruth Smith in Idabel, OK on February 17, 1998. He spent many years working as a logger before retiring. John spent his free time going dancing with Ruth at the Back Street Band and tinkering around his house. 

John is preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Margaret Standridge; brother: Leon Standridge; brother: Donald Standridge; sister: Betty Brown; sister: Nancy Chumley; daughter: Trina Standridge; and daughter: Dora Lee Standridge. 

He leaves behind his wife: Ruth Standridge of the home; children: Janette Standridge of Antlers, OK, Margie Owens and husband Larry of Farris, OK, Teresa Jordan and husband Johnny of Haskell, OK, John Standridge Jr. and spouse Tina of Antlers, OK, Elaine Standridge of Oklahoma City, OK, Jim Owen Standridge and wife Bekka Standridge and Susie Patterson of Antlers, OK, Morgan Hopson of Colcord, OK, Wayne Durrence of Hugo, OK, and Charles Durrence and wife Jeanne of Stroud, OK; brothers: Joe Standridge of Antlers, OK, Hebo Standridge of Antlers, OK, and George Standridge of Nelson, OK; sisters: Dorothy Standridge of Antlers, OK, Lorene Thompson of Antlers, OK, Elizabeth Babcock of Hugo, OK, and Hazel Taylor of Concord, NC; as well as 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday October 12, 1-4pm at East Side Park Community Building located at 105 Spigner Dr. Broken Bow, OK. Special Guest: Backstreet Band
