Johnnie Pace Obituary

Johnnie Sue (Savage) Pace was born November 21, 1935 at the family home in Finley, Oklahoma, to Bennie Ridpath Savage and William Clarence Savage, the fourth of eight children. She attended Finley public schools and graduated from Antlers High School in 1953.

She married Douglas Franklin "Bob" Pace on August 25, 1955 at the Finley Baptist Church. After marrying, Bob and Johnnie Sue moved to Ft. Stockton, TX where she worked as a bookkeeper for Winkler's Department Store. After moving back to Antlers in 1961, Johnnie was a homemaker until 1969 when she went to work for the USDA Natural Resource Conservation District and the Pushmataha Conservation District until she retired 30 years later in 1999. After moving to Oklahoma City, Johnnie enjoyed proof reading depositions for her daughter's court reporting firm and spending time with her family.

Johnnie was a strong individual in her faith in Jesus Christ as her savior and will always be remembered for her kind and generous heart, her wonderful cooking, and her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Johnnie Sue passed from this life on December 5, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 84 years. She leaves behind three daughters: Bobbie Sue Brown and husband Roy of Moore, Oklahoma, Mona Kay Ricci of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Terri Lea Dodson of Moore, Oklahoma. She is survived by three grandchildren: Eric Brown and wife Sarah of Norman, Oklahoma, Sara Miers and husband Justin of Moore, Oklahoma, and Carly Ricci of California. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Jackson and Logan Miers, Ezra Brown, and Lexi DeLaPena. Survivors also include three brothers: Claude Albert Savage, J.L. Savage and wife Mary Jo, and Drake Savage of Finley, and two sisters: Sharri McIntosh of McKinney, Texas, and Linda Thomas and husband Don of Finley, Oklahoma.
