Obituary

Johnston Hal Murray, known fondly by all as Hal, passed away on August 3, 2023, at his home in Antlers, OK. He was born in Hugo, OK on May 3, 1951, to Harold Lee Murray and Inez Murray. Hal outlived both his parents, and his sister, Sherry Lee Murray Swartout.

Hal devoted a significant part of his life working at the Shell Oil Company before retiring. His boundless generosity manifested in his life as a charitable donator, always willing to help those in need.

His love for music and art was unrivaled. As an accomplished cultural collector, Hal especially enjoyed photography and was regarded as a knowledgeable historian. His generosity extended to his creative spirit, serving as a wonderful beacon of knowledge to everyone around him.

We remember Hal as an art enthusiast, music connoisseur, and a remarkably generous and creative soul. May his memory continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service for Hal will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 10AM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel.

Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service and Cremations of Antlers, OK.
