LD Sullivan Obituary

LD Sullivan was born on August 8, 1943 in Antlers, Oklahoma to Forrest and Wilma Sullivan. He passed from this life on June 19, 2024 at his Antlers home at the age of 80.

LD was a man who wore many hats throughout his 80 years of life. He was tough, a man's man if you will. LD was a straight shooter and no one ever had to wonder where they stood with him.
He and Sandra married on November 2, 1963, and together they raised a family and enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage.

LD enjoyed a good horse, a good dog, and gathering cattle. He loved buying, selling, and trading horses. He made his first swap at 9 years old, when he traded 3 goats for a bicycle. LD was a born leader, whether it be at home, helping friends, or in the oil field.

He worked hard at many jobs, but his best and hardest work was when he found Jesus and his life was changed forever. He has influenced many lives, but his greatest passion was leading others to the Lord. LD knew the Bible like nobody's business and could share scripture word for word. He was a great example of how much one man could change. Hopefully his influence has changed the lives of all who knew him.

LD was preceded in death by his parents: Forrest and Wilma Sullivan; wife: Sandra Sullivan; daughter: Melinda Janoe; granddaughters: Mandy Janoe and Mazy Sullivan; and sister: Nancy Polk.

He is survived by his children: Pamela Self of Antlers, Loretta and Mike Motley of Avinger, TX, Gale Sullivan of San Francisco, CA, Justin Sullivan of Greenwood, LA, and honorary daughter, Nancy Johnson Starlin of Atoka, OK; grandchildren: Mark Janoe, Mylaine Self, Melody Maxwell, Tanner Hallows, Cory Motley, and Jake Sullivan; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

A lunch will be held at 12PM, June 22, 2024 at Archey Baptist Church.

Services will take place from 2-4PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Archey Baptist Church in Soper, OK with Mike Merritt officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Sugar Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Frank Radner, David Finley, Gary Mitchell, Shane Nelson, Justin Sullivan, and Charles McLemore. Honorary pallbearers are: Johnny Self, Ben Bob Mills, Shorty Porter, Mike Merritt, and Dean Frankley.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cowboy Crossing Church Youth Building Fund. A special thanks to the Cowboy Crossing Church. He loved this Church and Church family.

Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
