Larry Dean Crawford

Pastor Larry Dean Crawford, 65, passed from this life September 4, 2022 in Paris, Texas. He was born on July 26, 1957 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Cecil and Florence (Fetter) Crawford.

Larry graduated Antlers High School in 1975 and continued his education at seminary school. Following the footsteps of a long lineage of preachers, he too was called to preach. He went on to pastor many churches before accepting his final pastoral position at Westside Baptist Church in Antlers.

Larry loved the Lord, loved being a preacher and sharing God’s Word. He would always say “I want to be preaching until my dying day.” He enjoyed music and playing the guitar and various musical instruments.

Larry worked for Pruett’s Food for over thirty years; he would always greet others with a cheerful smile and a silly joke, a good story, or a praise to the Lord. When asked “what have you been up to?” he would almost always respond “eating, sleeping and preaching, not necessarily in that order.” He treasured spending time with his family and loved ones. He enjoyed getting together with his siblings, nieces, and nephews to play music, sing, and share memories. Leaving behind a trail of broken hearts, Larry will be immensely missed.

He is preceded in death by his sister: Linda Crawford; mother Florence Irene Crawford; father: Cecil Matthew Crawford; and brother-in-law: Donald LeFlore.

Larry leaves behind his children: Michelle Crawford of Paris, Texas, Matthew Crawford of Paris, Texas, Michael Applegate and wife Kaci of Paris, Texas, Daniel Crawford and wife Amanda of Morrilton, Arkansas, Calvin Crawford and wife Kendra of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Stanley Crawford of Morrilton, Arkansas; brother: Dale Crawford and wife Joyce of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sisters: Janice LeFlore of Antlers, Oklahoma and Ellen Garrett and husband Ed of McAlester, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Aaron, Jessie, Alex, Andrew, Eli, Simon, Hayden, and Jasper; great grandchildren: John, Gage, and Rwby; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family night will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 6-8PM at Serenity Funeral Service. Funeral Services for Larry Crawford will be held 2PM Monday September 12, 2022 at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma with interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers include Michael Applegate, Alex Foster, Josh LeFlore, Noah Rosenow, Randy Cockrill, and Kevin Gann. Honorary pallbearers include Billy Skaggs, Dwight Satterfield, Eddie Leyba, and Carl Hatcher.

Funeral services are entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
