Lawanda Lorene Wheeler

Lawanda L. Wheeler (82) passed from this life on May 3, 2022 in Moore, OK with her family at her side. She was born in Ringold, OK on December 7, 1939 to Walter and Vestine (Winter) Cody.

Lawanda married Don. W. Wheeler on June 20, 1959 in Hugo, OK, and was a proud military wife, supporting Don in 20 years of service and travels. She was a member of the Cloudy Baptist Church and had lived in the Cloudy area most of her life. Lawanda was an avid doll collector. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Vestine Cody; brother: Clovis Cody; sisters: Lorretta Miller and Aline Montgomery; daughter: Karen (Wheeler) Potrykus; and son: Darren Wheeler.

Lawanda is survived by her husband: Don Wheeler of Cloudy, OK; children: Don Wheeler II and wife Jeanne; son-in-law: Brian Potrykus; brother: Lynn Cody; sister: Terry James; grandchildren: Christopher Shannon, Darrell Short, and Dustin Wheeler; great-grandchildren: Makenzy Short and Liliana Wheeler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 10AM at Cloudy Baptist Church with Luther Roden officiating. Interment to follow at Cloudy Cemetery.

Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
