Lena Lawless

Lena Faye Lawless, 73, left this world to be with the Lord, and those loved ones that went before her, on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018. She was born December 14th, 1944 to Lawrence and Effie Wade in Sardis, Oklahoma, the youngest of nine children. She graduated from Antlers high school in 1963, and married her high school sweetheart, Curtis Wayne Lawless on July 15th, 1963, and they remained in the Antlers area to raise their family.

Over her life, Lena had several jobs: telephone operator, Pushmataha county superintendent of schools clerk, Antlers city clerk, retiring from the USDA, Service Agency and continuing with the Department of Agriculture following retirement as a farm/ranch census reporter. Those jobs that truly mattered to her were Wife, Mother, Grammy, Mamo, Sister and Friend (and she surely loved to fish). She was the most incredible Mother and Grandmother (and cook). She loved the Lord, she loved her Family, and was a blessing to all who loved or knew her. Her life was an example of faith, hope and charity and she instilled this example with her Family and far beyond. Her friends are without number and she was loved and will be missed by all.

Lena is survived by her son Brian (Donna) Lawless; daughter Rebecca (Todd) Crawford; son Jason (Sari) Lawless; grandsons Thomas, John and Jackson Lawless, and Wil Crawford; granddaughters Jaci Shaver and Shelby Lawless, and Elizabeth Crawford; great-grandson Maddox Shaver and great-granddaughter Annie Lawless; sisters Verna Berry and Martha Rogers, and brother Paul (Sue) Wade; sisters by marriage Barbara ( Mike) Nabors, Mary (Mark) Virden, Charlotte Lawless, Connie (Jesse) Moses, and Donna (Tim) Stone; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Family Night will be held on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Antlers from 6 to 7 pm. Memorial service will be at First Baptist Church on Saturday, May 26th at 10 am.

Honorary Pallbearers will include: Paul Wade, Jesse Moses, Mike Nabors, Mark Virden, Tim Stone, Tom Lawless, John Lawless, Wil Crawford, Jackson Lawless.

Lena's cremation was entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
