Lois Jean Vaughan

Lois Jean Vaughan was born on April 14, 1928, in Cromwell, Oklahoma. She passed away on June 9, 2026, in Antlers, Oklahoma. Lois married Norman E. Vaughan on September 24, 1949 in Antlers, Oklahoma, and together they enjoyed 73 beautiful years of marriage.

Lois was a faithful Christian woman whose life was centered on her love for the Lord and her care for others. She served as a travelling minister, sharing her faith with grace and conviction, and she carried the message of hope wherever she went. Lois lived in a way that reflected the goodness of God, and her presence was a blessing to her family, friends, and community.

In addition to her ministry, Lois worked alongside her husband at Fry Lumber Company, where she served as the bookkeeper. She found joy in the simple and beautiful things of life. She loved to crochet, and her hands created with patience and care. One of her greatest joys was her hummingbirds, and she also enjoyed playing the piano. She loved camping and the time spent outdoors. Above all, she treasured being with her family, and those moments together were among the greatest blessings of her life.

Lois is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Norman E. Vaughan; son: Justin Wayne “Rusty” Vaughan; parents: Lannie and Mamie Beaty; brother: FL Beaty; and sister: Virginia Skipwith.

She is survived by her children: Terry Blaine Vaughan and spouse Lawanda of Antlers, and daughter-in-law: Sheila Sherman; sister: Maxine Hunter and Billy Beauford; grandchildren: Jamie Lindsey, Justin Vaughan, Blaine Vaughan, and Terron Vaughan; and great-grandchildren: Abriella Vaughan, Eden Vaughan, Christopher Vaughan, Ella Grace Vaughan, Gunner Vaughan, and James Lindsey.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10AM at Oddfellows Cemetery.
