He served in Vietnam and the Cold War. In 1965, he left the Navy to start a family.

He worked for American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Brown & Root. In his later years he worked for Jerry Nowell in Antlers, Oklahoma. After retiring, he became active in the VFW. He served in the VFW Post #3658, in Antlers, Oklahoma and then in the VFW Post # 8316, in Hugo, Oklahoma. This was his family and second home.

His passions were his children, cows, and feeding raccoons on his front porch. He loved raising cows and scratching these babies of his.
