Mary Savage Obituary

Mary Jo Savage was born in Snow, Oklahoma on December 23, 1939 to A.L. Jackson and Oleta May (Winningham) Jackson. She passed from this life at her home in Finley, Oklahoma on May 22, 2021 at the age of 81.

Mary enjoyed her family and had many good memories of the fun times with them. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. She held several jobs outside the home; the last as a cosmetologist which she enjoyed very much. She spent many happy years with J.L., after their marriage on October 13, 1958. The Glass House Museum in Finley was a joy to both of them, as they put everything together.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents: A.L. "Buddy" Jackson and Oleta M. Jackson; brothers: William Danny Jackson and Bob Jackson; and her son-in-law: Donne Simpson.

She is survived by her loving husband: J.L. Savage of the home; daughter: Jennie Simpson of Antlers, OK; sons: John Savage and wife Crystal of Snow, OK, and Bill Savage and wife Andrea of Hartshorne, OK; sister: Betty Boatright and husband Allen of Krebs, OK; brothers: A.L. Jackson, Jr. and wife Debbie of Snow, OK, and Larry Jackson of Snow, OK; grandchildren: Chad, Gavin, Justin, Dakota, John Robert, Dalton, and Rachel; and great-grandchildren: Charley, Clancy, Whitley, Claire and Owen.

A family night will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 6-7PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers. Services for Mary will take place at the One Creek Valley Church on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2PM with Bob Childers and Phillip Savage officiating. Interment to follow at Finley Cemetery with Mary's grandsons: Chad Savage, Gavin Savage, Justin Simpson, Dakota Savage, John Robert Savage, and Dalton Savage, serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include: Barry Savage, Joe Young, Buddy Savage, Steve Savage, and Jim O'Brien.

Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
