Maudell Meshaya was born on June 21, 1948 in Rufe, Oklahoma to Martin J. and Ruth (Ishcomer) Meshaya. She passed from this life on February 25, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 72.
Maudell was a proud, devoted, Choctaw woman of faith who enjoyed reading her devotional book and Bible, creating Choctaw pottery, and cooking native food. She was a member of the Bobb-Myers Methodist Church of Antlers, Oklahoma.
Maudell is preceded in death by her parents: Martin J. Meshaya and Ruth Ishcomer Meshaya; grandparents: Rev. James N. Meshaya and Emiline Hickley Meshaya; one brother: Martin J. Meshaya, Jr.; one sister: Dorothy Meshaya Willie; and a favorite uncle: Daniel Ishcomer; along with several other aunts and uncles she cherished.
She leaves behind to celebrate her memory: three brothers, two sisters, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Maudell will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Antlers City Cemetery with Rev. Lester Tims officiating. Honorary pallbearers include: Ian Thompson, Reefus Eeyachubbee, Alex Alexander, John Meshaya, Neal Ishcomer, Melvin Ishcomer, and Beverly Hill Tramble.
