Melissa Angel (Gonzales) Erwin

Melissa Angel Erwin was born on January 8, 1974, in Santa Fe, NM to Rebecca Ostrander. She passed from this life on October 17, 2023, in Paris, TX.

Melissa married the love of her life, Roger Wayne Erwin, on November 28, 1997. She was a member of the Cloudy community for 26 years. She attended Victory Assembly of God in Rattan, OK.

She is preceded in death by her father and step mother-in-law: Thomas and Sheena Erwin of Cloudy; mother and step father-in-law: Pamela and Pat Edson of Atoka, OK.

Melissa is survived by her husband: Roger Erwin of Cloudy, OK; children: Sara Varguera and Anthony of San Angelo, TX, Adrianna Trent and Cody of Cloudy, OK, Kristina Erwin of Cloudy, OK, Daniel Erwin of Cloudy, OK, Broc Erwin and Bionka of Fort Towson, OK, and Trent Hilburn of Spencerville, OK; grandchildren: Savannah Smith, Arya Varguera, Adalyn Coffelt, Remington Brackett, Ruger Greenhaw, Ryker Erwin, Haygen Erwin, Bentley Harvison, Memphis Harvison, and Asher Harvison; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Melissa was known for her strong work ethic. She was a dedicated employee at Walmart for many years, setting a strong example for both her beloved coworkers and her family. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her deep love of family. Melissa was a fun, loving woman of genuine joy with a contagious giggle. She never hesitated to open her home to all, and never turned anyone away. Melissa loved spending time with family and friends, but it was her children and grandchildren that truly made her world bright. She found pleasure in the simple things and loved going to the ocean or the river to fish and swim.

There will be a friends and family gathering on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6-8PM at Serenity Funeral Service. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2PM at Victory Assembly of God.

Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service and Cremations of Antlers.
