Merrel Frederick Wilkerson was born in Spencerville, OK on March 13, 1941 to Jack and Irene (Fatheree) Wilkerson. He passed from this life on February 17, 2025 in Hugo, OK at the age of 83.
Merrel, a member of the Masonic Lodge, was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed fishing, good country dancing, working out, hiking, and playing sports with his sons.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Irene Dunkin; father: Jack Wilkerson; siblings: Brit Wilkerson, Wanda Collins, Ella Mae Claxton, Maude Lee Wayman, Willard Wilkerson, Edward Wilkerson, and Joy Evans.
Merrel is survived by his children: Michael Tak Wilkerson and Timothy Wade Laughlin; grandchildren: Dylan Wilkerson, Derek Laughlin, Brandi Pike, Clay Laughlin; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2PM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel.
