Michael Dean Oliver, 53, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born March 31, 1969, in Lubbock, Texas, to Vance E. and Mary Dean (Trostle) Oliver.
He was a Christian veteran of the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for ten years. Later in life, he became an Electrical/Mechanical Technician and worked for Pilot Thomas Logistics. Michael donated a lot of his time to working with disabled veterans and truly enjoyed helping others. He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and had a great appreciation for his heritage. Michael also enjoyed working as a Volunteer Firefighter, rock climbing, model rocketry, and scuba diving. He had a deep fondness for his dog, Beau. Above all else, Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew him.
Michael is preceded in death by his father: Vance Ervin Oliver; mother: Mary Dean (Trostle) Oliver; paternal grandparents: E.L. Oliver and Ruby Oliver, Rev. Roscoe and Mary Beth Trostle, and Coy and Emma Stafford; and great-grandparents: Sibby Loring-Hunt and John Hunt.
He is survived by his daughter: Samantha Ann Miner of El Cajon, California; brothers: Vance Oliver II and wife Debbie of Midland, Texas, and Jay Kerry Oliver and wife Stephanie of Buchanan Dam, Texas; best friend: Eric Williams of Midland, Texas; Nieces: Brandi Cardenas of Midland, Texas; Nicole Ritchie of Lake Park, Minnesota; Caitlin Gresham of Midland, Texas; Tatum Thompson of Spring Branch, Texas; and Kinzy Kennedy of Buchanan Dam, Texas. Nephew: Blake Kennedy of Buchanan Dam, Texas; as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends.
