Daniel Odell McKinney, affectionately known as Mike, passed on to his eternal home on March 18, 2025. He was born to James Franklin McKinney and Idella (Helton) McKinney on January 29, 1939 in Bethel, OK. Mike married Della Ann Jones on March 23, 1963 in Okarche, OK, and together they enjoyed many years of marriage, eventually making their home in Antlers, OK.

Mike enlisted in the United States Navy in 1957, serving in VietNam. He proudly made a career out of his service, and eventually retired from his military duties in 1983 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Mike spent his downtime doing woodwork and spending time with his beloved family. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Antlers, OK.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James and Idella McKinney, as well as all of his siblings.

He is survived by his wife: Della McKinney of the home; children: Lawanna McKinney of Modesto, CA, and Michael McKinney and spouse Wanda of Antlers, OK; grandchildren: Delawna McKinney of Pleasant Hill, CA, Alexander McKinney of Modesto, CA, Jake McKinney of Buckeye, AZ, Ashley Oldham of Nashoba, OK, Justin McDaniel and wife Michelle of Denton, TX, and Doyle McDaniel and wife Carissa of Durant, OK; and great-grandchildren: Granger McKinney, Jamie Oldham, Emily Oldham, and Jensen McDaniel.

Services for Mike will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 10AM at the First United Methodist Church in Antlers with Tim Trujillo and Brent Franks officiating. Honors will be provided by the United States Navy. Interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery.
