Monk Ray Penner

Monk Ray Penner, a beloved brother and lifetime resident of Southeast Oklahoma, passed away on November 16, 2023, in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born on January 29, 1950 in Pine Spring, Oklahoma to Sam Penner and Mamie Elzora (Gillihand) Penner.

Monk is preceded in death by his parents: Sam and Mamie Penner; his siblings: Omer Penner, Delmer Penner, Graden Penner, George Penner, Joe Penner, Tommy Penner, Alvin Penner, William Penner, and Lucille Grammar; and sister-law: Clara Penner.
He is survived by his brother: Ira Penner and his wife Brenda; his sister: Velma Virginia Griffin; and his sisters-in-law: Anita, Sylvia, and Rosetta Penner.

Monk found joy in simple pleasures such as hunting and fishing. He had a competitive spirit and enjoyed a good game of dominoes with his friends. His memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 2PM in the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel with Donny Day officiating. Interment will follow at Darwin Cemetery.
