Patsy Ruth Lawless (88) peacefully went to be with her Lord at her home in Antlers, Oklahoma on April 27, 2021. She was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on February 12, 1933 to Liston P. Coffey and Mildred (McDonald) Coffey and was a resident of Antlers since 1949.
Patsy married Almurn Lawless, Jr. on May 4, 1973 in Antlers. For 33 years, she worked as Secretary for the USDA, until her retirement. Patsy was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and loved her Lord and Church family dearly. Being a lover of music, she played piano and organ for the church for over 50 years, and eventually taught her daughter to play piano alongside her. One of Patsy's passions and ministries was cooking, and she always had a table full of food. Each Sunday she fed children and grandchildren and her servant's heart extended to any church visitors. Holidays included 40 plus people with tables in every part of the house. She spent many hours searching for new recipes and shared them with everyone. Patsy never met a stranger and loved to talk and visit. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents: LP and Mildred Coffey; siblings: Francis Smith, Liston Coffey, and Charlotte Ruiz; grandson: Kevin Dennis Linn; and great-grandson: Benjamin Archie Bell.
Patsy is survived by her husband: Almurn Lawless, Jr.; children: Deborah Goen and husband Bill, Dianna Hilburn and husband Curtis, Daniel Davis and wife Rita, Larry Lawless and wife Peggy, Carolyn Lawless, Debra Hedrick and husband James, and Beverly Bell and husband John; as well as 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Church of the Nazarene in Antlers.
Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Oklahoma.
