Rickey Lee Deaton, a lifelong resident of Rattan, OK, passed away on January 11, 2025 at his home at the age of 66. He was born on August 11, 1958 in Hugo, OK to Melvin Deaton and Emma (Rhodes) Deaton.

Rickey married Elizabeth Downum on August 18, 1979 in Duncanville, TX, and together they shared 45 years of marriage and memories. He was a true outdoorsman and country boy at heart, who loved hunting, fishing, and watching his John Wayne Westerns. When he wasn't spoiling his grandbabies, he got a lot of joy out of picking at people and just being ornery in general. Everyone always knew, if Rickey gave you a hard time, it was only because he liked you. Even his beloved grandbabies weren't exempt from his picking.

He is preceded in death by his mother: Emma Mae Deaton; father: Melvin Deaton; brother: Jimmy Deaton; sister: Rita White; grandmother: Loni Rhodes; grandfather: Cecil Rhodes; grandfather: Rufus Deaton; and grandmother: Emma Wright Deaton.

Rickey is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Deaton of the home; children: Bradley Deaton and spouse Julia Deaton of Spencerville, OK, and Kevin Deaton and wife Katrina Deaton of Rattan, OK; and grandchildren: Bridgett Krup, Joseph Gunnels, Michael Krup, Bradley Deaton, Jr., Catherine Deaton, Jacqueline Deaton, Kaidence Deaton, Kristopher Deaton, and Emma Kirk Safford.

A family night service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 7-9PM at Serenity Funeral Service.
