Ronnie Ray Monroe passed from this life on April 30, 2020. He was born December 23, 1946 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Curtis Raymond Monroe and Alta Odell (Bennett) Monroe. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Ronnie was raised in Hugo, Oklahoma, where he attended and graduated from Hugo High School. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force and proudly served three and a half years. After his service, he married Billie "Sisty" Duncan on September 19, 1969 in Hugo, Oklahoma. Ronnie and Sisty lived in Wylie, Texas for over 25 years, where he retired from Rockwell International after 23 years, before moving home to Oklahoma. As his family would tell you, if Ronnie liked you, he would most likely be aggravating you in some way or another. He enjoyed spending much of his time woodworking, and his favorite thing to do was to BUILD CROSSES for his friends and family. Ronnie was always willing to help anyone in need, and never expected a penny in return.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Curtis Monroe, Alta Bennett Monroe, brother: Dale Monroe, father in law and mother in law: Jack and Betty Duncan.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Billie "Sisty" Monroe of the home; twin sons: Kevin Monroe of Emory, Texas, David Monroe and wife Jody of Caddo Mills, Texas, and special sister-in-law/daughter Kathy Fitch and husband Tommy of Belgrade, Montana; sisters: Billie Owen of Hugo, Oklahoma, Linda Perryman and husband Floyd of Messer, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Johna Thomason and husband Tad, Dakota Monroe and wife Ingrid, Taylor Monroe, and Savannah Monroe; great-grandchildren: Presley Thomason and Drake Thomason; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Viewing will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Serenity Funeral Service from 9AM to 8PM. Graveside services will be held with immediate family in attendance and can be seen Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 2PM on Facebook Live.
Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Oklahoma.
