Russell Neal McKenzie, 61 of Moyers, passed from this life on July 18, 2024. He was born to Doug McKenzie and Golda Faye (Bohall) McKenzie on April 5, 1963 in Antlers, Oklahoma. Russell married Heather Lynn Hatfield on April 13, 2018.

Russell was a true outdoorsman, and was happiest at the river. He found peace in listening to the whippoorwills, crickets, and bullfrogs. Russell spent much of his time enjoying nature, fishing, hunting, and riding his four wheeler to take in all the beauty of Southeast Oklahoma. He truly loved spending time with his grandbabies, watching Gunsmoke with his wife, and visiting with his beloved family and friends. Russell will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father: Doug McKenzie; mother: Golda Faye McKenzie; and brother: Terry Winn.

Russell is survived by his wife: Heather Lynn McKenzie; children: Brandy May Harvey and husband Clifton, Rustie Marie Kenitzer, Grace Logan Geary and husband Dustin, and Hailie Michelle Collins; step-sons: David Thomas Hutchings and Thomas Lee Hutchings; sisters: Anita Sue Ditzler and husband Dewey Dewayne Pebworth, and Donna Willits; grandchildren: Alizé Nicole Warren, Peyton Nicole McKenzie, Kaedynce Maree Kenitzer, McKenzie Rae Kenitzer, Duncan Ray Harvey, Coy Lee Geary, Devanté Montgomery Harris, and Lincoln Russell McKenzie; nieces and nephews: Justin McKenzie and wife Shannon, Larry Winn, Aaly McKenzie Jessica Barrett, Jordon Hayes and husband Seth, as well as many, many more.

Services for Russell will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11AM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel with Johnny Corgill officiating.
