Sheldon Thorne was unexpectedly called to his eternal home on August 14, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1983 in Lawton, OK. He passed in the loving arms of his mother, Debbie Cogburn.

Sheldon leaves behind his precious son, Sebastian Thorne; significant partner, Lisa; bonus children, Sophia and Victor; mother and father, Debbie and Ricky Cogburn; brother and sister-in-law, Chasson and Morgan Thorne; sister and brother-in-law, Shannon and Jerry Bolling; aunt, Renee Yount; paternal grandmother, Helga Hollenbeck; uncle and wife, Harold and Donna Thorne; great aunt, Betty White; and many sweet cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lala Hatcher and Bobby Musgrave; and paternal grandfather, William Thorne.

Sheldon's beautiful young son, Sebastian, was the light of his life. He was a wonderful father whose love for his children was immeasurable. Being a dad was the most important role in his life and a gift that he cherished every moment of every day. He was also a loving son who never missed a day to call or text his mom and dad to chat, vent, or simply say I love you.

Sheldon graduated from Atoka High School in 2001. He worked as a machinist over the years and was an E& I Tech for Brown & Root in Valliant, OK before becoming disabled. He had a lifelong curiosity and fascination with the weather. From the age of 4, he was the family weatherman, constantly giving daily reports or phone warnings of impending bad weather. He had a passion for NASCAR and especially Jeff Gordon. Most Importantly, he had a huge heart and was compassionate to everyone around him. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. 

There are no words to express how grateful his family is to have shared life with this wonderful soul. The family encourages all who read this to please use Sheldon's sudden passing as a reminder to never miss an opportunity to tell those around you, your family, or anyone in need, "You are important and you are loved!" May God bless you. 

Family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
