Sherman M. Carter, Jr. was born on September 22, 1942 in Terrance, California to Sherman Mike Carter, Sr. and Pearl Elizabeth (Roebuck) Carter. He passed from this life on April 1, 2021 in Antlers, Oklahoma.
Sherman was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and served his country from 1963-1964. He was a man of Baptist faith, and had been a resident of Pushmataha County for the past 32 years. Sherman enjoyed spending his time fishing, traveling, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Sherman Mike Carter, Sr. and Elizabeth Carter; brothers: Billy Carter and J.D. Carter; and long-time friend: Barry Skiba.
Sherman is survived by his brother: Waymon G. Carter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2PM at the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Soper, Oklahoma.
