Stephen Edward Barnes, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born on May 18, 1974, in Bakersfield, California. His kindness and ability to repair almost anything earned him a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.

Stephen loved adventure, and could often be found fishing, hunting, racing, driving and fixing things. Above all else, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He will be remembered as a man who loved to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, no matter the need.

Stephen is preceded in death by his mother: Vickie Goswick; step-father: James Clay Goswick; father: John Barnes; aunt: Wendy Reese-Mills; and brother-in-law: Michael Creel.

He is survived by his ex-wife: Rebeccah Barnes; children: Rebeccah Spencer and husband Jason of Antlers, OK, and Jamie Barnes of Antlers, OK; brother: Jeffrey Reese of Finley, OK; sisters: Stacie Hernandez and husband Mike of Bakersfield, CA; and grandchildren: Bennett Barnes and Aiden Spencer of Antlers, OK.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 2PM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel with Charlie Mueller officiating.

Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service and Cremations of Antlers.
