Teresa Newburn, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
Teresa found joy in the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved crafting, spending time working in her yard, and creating a home that reflected her warmth and creativity. An exceptional cook, she expressed her love through countless meals shared with family and friends. Those who knew Teresa will remember her infectious sense of humor, quick wit, and the laughter she brought into every room.
Above all, Teresa treasured her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Teresa is survived by her son, Nathan Newburn; her daughter, Natalie Leyendecker, and son-in-law, Christopher Leyendecker; her cherished granddaughter, Patience Leyendecker; and her sisters, Heidi Cooper-Bradley and Terrill Jalayne Nakonsky.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Richard Newburn; her father, Gerald Bishop; her brother, Tony Bishop; and her sister, Tonja Knight.
Teresa’s legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever be cherished, and the lessons she taught through her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at 2PM, June 26, 2026 at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers OK. The family asks that those wishing to honor her memory do so by planting flowers, tending a garden, or sharing a home-cooked meal with someone they love—simple acts that brought Teresa so much happiness.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near."
