Tommy Ray Persinger

Tommy Ray Persinger was born January 19, 1943 in Konawa, Oklahoma to William Persinger and Janie (Davis) Persinger. He graduated from Rattan High School in 1961 and served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He married Dianna Taylor January 22, 1964. Most of his adult life he was involved in highway construction and maintenance. After he retired from ODOT in 2003 they enjoyed spending time as full-time RVers traveling in their motor home. Tommy loved to bass fish and also enjoyed watching Rattan ballgames where he was always good for a funny story shared with some of his friends. He also loved to repurpose or “fix” things and you can find gorilla tape and glue on almost anything he owned. He often took his power wheelchair outside and had to be rescued numerous times when he got it stuck.

He is survived by his wife Dianna of the home, brother Donnie Persinger of Cyril, OK, sister-in-law Frances Persinger of Sobol, daughter Rhonda Mack and husband Walter of Rattan, son Randy Persinger and wife Stacy of Sulphur, Grandchildren; Shaylin Bobo and Tim of Yukon, Morgan Honaker and Brady of Sulphur, Kierstyn Rowe and Terry of Ardmore, Cody Mack and fiancé Hadleigh Workman, Cassidy Mack and Great-grandchildren; Jaxon, Austyn and Jackie.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Persinger, mother Janie Green, step-father Ted Green and siblings; Eugene Persinger, Pauline Boswell, Katherine Green, Billie Eaton, Lorene Powell, Raymond Persinger and Peggy Wehba.

A graveside service will be held at Rattan Cemetery December 26 at 1:00 pm.
