Tyler Andrew Steele was born on Tuesday, November 26th, 1985 and passed from this life onto his eternal resting place on Thursday, March 26th, 2020. Tyler was born to Rick and Debbie Steele at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week in 1985.
On June 2, 1989, Tyler moved to Antlers along with his parents and two older brothers. Tyler attended Antlers Public Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating with the Class of 2004. He played football and golf. He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College graduating in 2006. A true country boy at heart, Tyler loved being out in the woods. He started helping his dad and brothers doing land surveys when he was about 4 years old. He worked for several different survey companies in Oklahoma but was most comfortable out with his dad, brothers, nephew, and best friend, Zack, surveying in Southeastern Oklahoma. Tyler worked hard but he played hard too. Tybo, as he was affectionately known, was one of the easiest going guys ever. He could go off and spend time by himself living in the moment or walk into a room and talk someone’s ear off. Tybo often spoke of stories from his time living in OKC with his buddies and roommates from K-Unit, hanging out at Sackett’s cabin, and random road trips.
Tyler had made the decision that he would just be a bachelor for the rest of his life, and then, at Stout’s 30th birthday party in April 2016, Tyler met Candice Scarpitti. By their first official date, backroading around Daisy, they were both smitten. Tyler proposed 72 days later. Candice brought two daughters with her into their relationship, Amerie and Adalie. The girls immediately took to Tyler and loved their new “country life” in Antlers. Tyler married Candice on April 28, 2017 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On Saturday, January 6, 2018, Tyler met the true love of his love when Emmalign Lou-Ann Steele was born. Emmy Lou was the light of her daddy’s life. Nothing made Tyler happier than seeing Emmy running towards him when he got home from a long day of work. He absolutely loved nothing more than seeing Emmy grow, teaching her new things, reading to her, helping her swing, taking her for rides in the Ranger, and being the absolute best Daddy in the entire world. His death has left a void that cannot be filled.
