Tyrone Thain Obituary
Tyrone Edgar Thain (73) passed away on January 19, 2022 at his home in McAlester, OK. He was born on December 27, 1948 in Baltimore, MD to Morris Edgar Thain and Beulah Mae Sandefer.
Tyrone had been a resident of McAlester for 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and proudly served during both the Korean War and the VietNam Conflict. After his service, he was employed at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary until his retirement. Tyrone enjoyed spending his time mowing, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved animals, especially his chickens. Most of all, he cherished his time spent with his family and friends.
Tyrone is preceded in death by his father: Morris Edgar Thain; mother: Beulah Mae Wooldridge and stepfather Royce Emanuel Wooldridge; brothers: Trison William Thain and Tryon Tony Thain; and sister: Trebus Aoiuda Thain.
He is survived by his children: Trison Thain, Tyrell Thain, and Trina Thain; and grandchildren: Briley Thain, Raven Thain, Easton Thain, Landon Thain, Riley Thain, Kinley Harrison, Kaine Harrison, and Kyra Harrison.
Services for Tyrone will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 3PM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel with interment following at Antlers City Cemetery. Honors will be provided by the United States Army and Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Pallbearers include: Jason Tedder, Josh Medley, JT Ballard, Trison Thain, Tyrell Thain, and Easton Thain.
Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
