Victor Colbert Eyachabbe, beloved partner, Father, and Papa, passed peacefully through Heaven's gates surrounded with love at the age of 83 on June 15, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and community.
Vic was born on December 8, 1940 in Finley, Oklahoma, the son of Rufus Eyachabbe Sr. and Mary (Wilkins) Eyachabbe. He grew up in Finley, Oklahoma being the oldest of two brothers and two sisters and was affectionately known as "Sonny". After attending school in Finley and Haskell, Papa Vic embarked on a proud career in the Army during which he was extremely honored to serve his country. After serving years in the military, he began a career in construction and welding working many years in Texas until retirement.
Vic is survived by his beloved Clara Battice-Eyachabbe who has been his loving partner in all choices of life for 35 years and devoted to each other during their golden years. Vic has been blessed to have his children to carry on his legacy, his daughters: Victoria and Mitch Holder, Nasha Tucker, Carolyn and Andrew Windham, and Chloe Eyachabbe, all of Oklahoma City; he was immensely loved by his stepchildren as well: Curtis Battice, Jr. and Karla of Midwest City, OK, Leslie Battice of Tecumseh, OK, and Sterling Battice and Tiffany of Antlers, OK; as well as 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 12 step grandkids, and 10 step-great-grandchildren who will forever miss their Papa Vic; brothers: Curtis Eyachabbe and wife Patsy, Rufus Eyachabbe Jr. and wife Ramona; sisters: Paula Sue Willis, and Rhoda Scott and husband Roger.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Papa Vic's passion for Life extended beyond his professional and family commitments. He was an avid church goer and he found joy in helping his church. Vic was a member of Old Cedar Methodist Church and Treasurer of the church. He held honor and accountability with the position, and he was always readily available any time to help with the church whenever needs, whether it was painting the church building, lawn maintenance, or any handyman work called his name, Vic was there to serve. He was a strong dedicated Christian man; his faith helped him through his darkest moments and remained with him until the moment he passed through Heaven's gate.
Vic will be remembered for his gentle demeanor, his witty sense of humor, and his ability to brighten any room with his infectious smile. He touched the lives of many with his generosity and compassion, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
In his later years, Vic cherished spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, giving wisdom and creating lasting memories. His legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A family night will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 6-8PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 1PM at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Tuskahoma Veterans Cemetery.
