Victor Locke Underwood, Jr. died peacefully on June 8, 2026, at his home in Antlers, OK, he was 89. Born in Antlers on August 11, 1936, he was the third of five children born to Victor Locke, Sr. and Lila Underwood. A 1954 graduate of Antlers High School, Victor was a standout quarterback for the Bearcats, going on to attend college and play football at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. It was there in Wilburton that Victor met a local girl named Evelyn Faye Forwoodson, whom he would marry a few years later in 1957; they would have four children.
Victor's work as a young man was varied, but in the early 1960's he settled into working in the Construction industry, a career that had him working and his family living in many US states. At the end of his career Victor was given a long-desired opportunity to work outside the US, so he and Faye traveled to multiple countries on various projects. When not working Victor enjoyed his family and the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to hunting and fishing, Victor and Faye would attend many baseball and football games the kids were taking part in. In fact, there were several of his kid's baseball seasons where he served as coach. Following a lengthy career, Victor and Faye re-settled in Antlers.
Victor is survived by his three sons and their spouses: Stephen and Kathy of McKinney, TX, Phillip and Kim of Justin, TX, and Kennedy and Marni of Nederland, TX; Victoria Underwood of Hugo, OK, Jessica and Amanda Underwood of Hugo, OK; his younger sister Glenna Cash of Duncan, OK; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Victor was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Evelyn Faye; his youngest child and only daughter, Melissa, his parents Victor L. Sr. and Lila Underwood, his sisters, Joyce Daniels and Jerri Burton, and his younger brother James A. Underwood.
A memorial service for Victor is set for Saturday June 20, 11:00 AM at Hall Free Will Baptist Church, on E 1950 Rd, Antlers.
Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
