Viola Martina Eden passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 19, 2024, at the age of 89 in Clayton, Oklahoma. Born to George Chester Mickel and Beulah Rebecca (Neher) Mickel on August 18, 1935, in Oleta, Oklahoma, Viola's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of care and dedication to those she loved.

Viola spent her working years as a home health CNA, a vocation that truly represented her nurturing spirit. Outside her professional life, Viola was an avid gardener and quilter. Cooking, fishing, a love for games, and puzzles were among the pastimes that filled her life with joy and laughter.

She joins in heaven her husband; Edward Lee Eden; parents: George Chester and Beulah Rebecca Eden; son: Jo Lee Eden; as well as her siblings: Arvin Mickel, Martha Eden, Lilie Lemmons, and Sovern O'Neil.

Among those who will forever honor Viola's memory are her children: Geraldean Heffner of Antlers, OK and Velma McIntyre and husband Cloise of Clayton; brothers: JD Mickel of Hugo, Cecil Mickel of Houston; sister: Cleo Davis of Oleta; grandchildren: Christy Miller and husband Frank, John Edward Hefner and wife Stephanie, Heidi Johnson and husband Justin, Donald McIntyre and wife Amber, Justin Eden and wife Tina, Joey Eden and wife Tonya, Marie Cossey and husband Aaron, Michelle McIntyre, and Crystal Durant and husband Brent; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A Family night will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 6-8PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, OK. Funeral service will take place on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 10AM in the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Corrine Cemetery. Pallbearers include: John Hefner, Frank Miller, Donald McIntyre, Justin Eden, Joey Eden, and John Miller. Honorary pallbearers are: Aaron Cossey and Justin Johnson.
