William Beckwith Obituary

William "Wild Bill" Beckwith was born on December 12, 1930 in Risin, Arkansas. He passed from this life at his home in Moyers, Oklahoma on August 25, 2024 at the age of 93.

William married Betty Sue Azeltine on July 9, 1960 in Norman, OK. He proudly served his country as an Army Private in WW2 and the Korean War. After returning home, he worked many years as a driver for Pepsi before his retirement. Whether he was watching the sunset, hunting, or fishing, William was most at peace when he was outdoors enjoying nature. He was a loving father, husband, and grandpa who loved his donkeys and his dog Kara.

William is preceded in death by his father: William Grant Beckwith, Sr.; and his sister: Helen Marie Beckwith.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Sue Beckwith of Antlers; children: Floyd Allen Beckwith of Antlers, William Grant Beckwith of Antlers, Rebekah Marie Cowell of Oklahoma City, Kelli Dawn East and husband Adam of Oklahoma City, and Melinda Brooks of Kansas; grandchildren: Dilland John Beckwith, Niki Nichole Canup, and Alexis Dawn Canup; and great-grandchildren: Keyliee Rae Beckwith, Levi Beckwith, Shylah Monae Canup, and Haiden Nicole Canup.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 3PM at the Moyers Community Center. Honorary pallbearers are William Grant Beckwith, Floyd Allen Beckwith, Dilland John Beckwith, Adam Lee East, Shawn Richard, Niki Canup, Alexis Canup.

Cremation services were entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
