Yvonne Johnson Obituary
Helen Yvonne Johnson, affectionately known as Yvonne, was a steadfast Christian who lived her life for the Lord for all of her 98 years, through 6 generations of family. Yvonne was born to Monroe and Stella Nored on November 7, 1925, in Stigler, Oklahoma, and joined her savior on March 25, 2024, in Antlers, Oklahoma.
Yvonne's journey through life was marked by a cherished and lasting union with Oren "Beans" Johnson, whom she wed on June 3, 1944, in Antlers. Yvonne's interests were a reflection of her love for the great outdoors and the simpler pleasures in life. Reading, camping, hunting, and fishing were among her treasured pastimes, as was nurturing her garden where her green thumb for raising flowers was evident for all to see. Above all else, Yvonne was faith-filled, a characteristic that showed through every facet of her being and an example that will remain as her enduring legacy. She was a member of the Moyers Baptist Church for many, many years. She had a strong faith and love for the Lord, and went to church faithfully until she could no longer hear. Even though she couldn't go to church, she still read her bible daily, and on Sunday mornings, she watched church services on TV. Yvonne was her family's prayer warrior. She loved her family and always had the biggest hugs to give her grandchildren. Only a few days before she passed, she was asked if she was a Christian woman, to which she replied, "YES I AM!"
Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband: Oren "Beans" Johnson; her parents: Monroe and Stella Nored; brothers: Bob Nored and Hal Nored; brother-in-law: Kenneth Rember; sister-in-law: Mary Nored; and son-in-law: Raymond Branch.
She is survived by her beloved children: Nancy Branch of Antlers, OK, Patricia Boren and husband Loyd of Moyers, OK, and Jim Johnson of Antlers, OK; brothers: Jerry Nored and wife Phyllis of Moyers, OK; sisters: Marjorie Rember of Antlers, OK, Linda Kellett and husband Dale of Moyers, OK, Judy Hopson and husband Dick of Farris, OK; 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Yvonne will be held on at 2PM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Moyers Baptist Church with Brett Miller officiating.
Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers.
