Beloved mother, grandmother, friend and cherished member of the Antlers community, Zetta Lorene Jordan Ketterling, left this world for her heavenly home on Monday, December 1, 2025. She had joyously celebrated her 102nd birthday on November 21st surrounded by family and friends.
Zetta was born to Jesse James Storie and Nancy Florence (Doll) Storie at Kosoma, Oklahoma, on November 21, 1923. She lived in the southeast Oklahoma area all of her life and attended school at Farris, moving to the Little Cedar community after she married John Henry Jordan in March of 1939. There they welcomed three children, John Henry Jr., Betty Jane and Joyce Marie.
Zetta became very involved in the Little Cedar Baptist Church, serving in many leadership roles as song leader, Sunday School teacher for both adults and children, as well as the general operations of the church. She was a living witness for the Lord and helped anyone in need of food, clothes, love and care. She saw the good in everyone and was never judgmental, showing kindness to all.
Whether helping in the fields, cooking meals for a work crew, or teaching Vacation Bible School, her hands were never idle. She enjoyed her hobbies of crocheting, quilting, sewing, gardening and, in later years, spoiling grandkids. When her children were older, she went to work at Elliott’s Restaurant and eventually purchased it, renaming it Jordan’s Café, and operated it for 30 years. Following that she owned and operated the Antlers Inn for several years. She also, worked for Head Start, helped her daughter in her fabric store over the years in addition to taking care of multiple rental properties.
John Henry passed away in 1990 and Zetta married Theodore (Ted) Ketterling in November of 1999. They raised cattle, gardened, and operated rental properties until they were in their 90’s. They both became members of First Baptist Church and remained steadfast in their faith. Over the last few years, when she became unable to attend church, she looked forward to the monthly visits of her friends from church.
Zetta’s survivors include her daughters: Betty Rutz and husband (Bill) of Ponca City, Joyce and husband (Joe) of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; daughter by choice, Glenda Rosenthal and husband (Thomas) of Antlers; and her daughter-in-law: Jackie Jordan, of Skiatook. She is also survived by one sister-in-law: Joeann Storie and the following grandchildren: Johnny Bob Jordan, Djuana Luann Watts, David Louie Jordan, Shana Lynette Gibelyou, Brandon Jay Rutz, Terri Leigh Jordan, Toni Lynn Redman, Johnny Rosenthal, Alesha Hyde and Thomas Lloyd Rosenthal as well as 25 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Henry Jordan and Theodore Ketterling, son John Henry Jordan, Jr., grandson Dennis Wilson, great grandsons Steven Jordan and Braydon Aaron Rutz, and great granddaughter Richelle Coronado. Four siblings also preceded her: Leon Storie, Alfred Storie, Billy Thurman Storie and Lillie Storie Head.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at First Baptist Church Antlers. Interment will follow at Antlers City Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Joe Halcomb, Bill Rutz, Brandon Rutz, Anthony Jordan, Thomas Rosenthal, and Stoney Norman.
